What is Aesthetisure?

Aesthetisure is complication insurance for cosmetic surgery. It covers the cost of treating a medical complication that occurs within 45 days of a covered cosmetic procedure, up to policy limits. It is not health insurance and does not replace your health plan.

Most health insurance policies contain an exclusion for complications arising from elective cosmetic surgery. Even when treatment is medically necessary, your health plan may deny the claim because the original procedure was elective.

No. Aesthetisure is available only through enrolled surgeon practices. Your surgeon registers you and collects the premium. If your surgeon isn’t enrolled, you can ask them to look into the program.

The premium is a one-time charge per surgical setting, regardless of how many procedures are performed. Exact amounts vary by state and program tier. Your surgeon’s office can quote you.

If you’re having multiple procedures at the same time, you pay a single premium. Each separate surgical date is a separate setting.

Coverage begins on the date of surgery and lasts 45 days. Any covered complication treated within that window is eligible for a claim. For capsular contracture after primary breast augmentation, the window is 12 months.

Hematoma, seroma, infection, wound dehiscence, capsular contracture, DVT, pulmonary embolism, embolism (including fat embolism), skin necrosis, and others. See the full list on our Covered Procedures & Complications page.

Revision surgery for aesthetic dissatisfaction, complications after the 45-day window (except capsular contracture: 12 months), procedures not on the covered list, and injectables.

No. Aesthetisure does not require a denial letter from your health insurer before processing your claim.

Our claims representative manages each case personally, start to finish. They contact your health insurer on your behalf.

Contact your surgeon’s office, or call us directly at (800) 362-1542. Your surgeon provides the surgical notes, and we take it from there.

We coordinate benefits with them to cover the remaining eligible balance, up to policy limits. This avoids double payment to the provider.

Ask them. The enrollment process takes minutes. Patients asking their surgeons to enroll is one of the most common ways practices discover the program.

Coverage applies at emergency rooms, hospitals, and accredited surgical facilities. If your surgeon’s office is an accredited surgical facility, treatment there qualifies.
